Organization

Hello, and welcome to MMAG

There is a reason that we consider ourselves an advocate group.  We believe, strongly, that the only way to make change is for people to organize, be active, and voice their opinions and desires.  We live in a democratic society that favors a majority opinion.  The fact of the matter is that we are in the majority.  For too long we’ve been made to feel otherwise.  That somehow by using what is, arguably, an almost miraculous natural medicine we automatically become criminals.  We now know all too well how wrong that is.  Unfortunately there are still many people that, due to where they live, do not have safe, legal access to medicinal cannabis.  Our goal is to change that.

We are here to give voice to the voiceless, to empower those who have been regarded as criminals and drug addicts.  This is why we also need your help, why we consider ourselves and, by extension, you activists.  We must be constantly vigilant in the fight for patient’s rights, for there are those that would impede us every step of the way because they somehow believe the lies that have been fed to us for too many years now.  We feel that through a strong base consisting of multiple local chapters, spearheaded by a sturdy national committee, that we can raise awareness and make medicinal cannabis available to those who need it most.

We strongly rely on these national chapters to begin making a change where it counts most, locally.  Through this web-site you can see if there is a chapter near you, if not please feel free to inquire as to how you can go about setting one up.  It is immensely important that people across the nation hear our stories and are given truthful, valuable information regarding the medicinal properties of cannabis.  It is also invaluable that people understand that there is a vast population of people who can benefit from medicinal cannabis.  It has been proven time and time again that through this type of grassroots activism positive change can, and will, be made.

Our objective here on the national committee is to lobby on a federal level to have cannabis rescheduled so that more research can be conducted.  We are also here to assist our local chapters in any way needed, whether it is through various community media outlets, or through support with provincial legislation, etc.  We are also responsible for the maintenance and coordination of all state and local chapters ultimately showing the astounding number of people in America that would benefit from medicinal cannabis.

By rescheduling marijuana multiple universities and hospitals will gain access to cannabis for further research.  This research can further show the immense medical properties of cannabis as well as discovering more about specific biochemical reactions and their benefits.  Rescheduling also will prevent continued action by federal drug enforcement agencies that persist in their attempts to harass patients, doctors, and legal providers of medicinal cannabis.  This is a very important step in making this medicine safely available to the public.

In conclusion we thank you and ask that you have a further look around the website.  We are dedicated to bringing you the latest news and information regarding medicinal cannabis as well as providing a blog format for the opinions and testimonials of patients nationwide.  We also urge you to find, or found, a local chapter near you, or to join up as a member.  You can proudly call yourself an activist and when you look back to this moment in history you can say, with dignity, that you helped change our nation for the better.
